  urban planning landscape architecture
The contact of mainland and the sea in the cityscape is always a trigger of social contact, and the coastline is vital space of public and economic activities. Having in mind the new programme complexity of the new Podgora coastline it is possible to imagine nautical scenario which would be converted from conventional programmes. Conventional approach would be to put a building close to the sea, somewhere in between coast street and the sea, and when not fully used, the building would have to be bypassed.
The scale of the proposed construction is such that it doesn't dominate the coastline; it rather emphasise the existing connections and establishes new relations. The intention is not to misplace any part of public space (which is today rather accesible space, than public space); this is ensured through the activation of the roof as a new public space.
Proposed construction deter the views of the existing buildings towards the sea and the islands; it is a terraced construction beneath which are the commercial and nautical facilities. The roof is exclusivly pedestrian with public use. The dynamic, easily accesible alternative paralel boardwalk has been achieved. New public space of Podgora is a focal point of public programmes of Podgora, thus allowing accesibility to all possible users. There is multiple connecting possibilities between the boardwalk and the public 'roof-space ', thus allowing maximum usage of the public space.
